Valve Tags, Pipe Identification & Process Equipment Labels
In any process plant – whether a petrochemical refinery, a water treatment works, a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility or a power generation station — accurate identification of valves, pipework and instrumentation is a fundamental safety and operational requirement. Mislabelled isolation valves, unmarked pipe contents or missing pressure rating data have contributed to serious industrial incidents. Stainless Steel Valve Tags
Valve tags for oil and gas, chemical and water industries must withstand continuous immersion, high-pressure steam cleaning, cryogenic service, acid splash and sustained temperatures that can exceed 200 °C. Lexicraft’s custom nameplates include chemically etched 316L stainless steel valve tags with loop-through holes or split-ring attachment for cable tie, wire or chain fitting to valve handwheels and stems. Tag numbering follows customer P&ID references, and we can supply complete sets correlated to your valve register in a single order.
Pipe Identification Labels
Correct pipe labelling to BS 1710 (or ISO 14726 for marine applications) requires colour-coded bands and directional flow arrows identifying pipe contents by hazard category and flow direction. Lexicraft produces these as custom labels in polyester and vinyl on self-adhesive stocks rated for outdoor UV exposure and temperature cycling. Printed legends and flow arrows are reproduced to the correct BS 1710 ground colours – from the green of fresh water to the yellow of flammable gases and the orange of acids – and to the correct typeface and sizing ratios for the applicable pipe diameter.
Pressure Vessel & Equipment Nameplates
Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps and compressors require permanent identification plates carrying manufacturer details, design pressure, design temperature, serial number and inspection body references as required by the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 and UKPED. Lexicraft’s custom nameplates are produced in engraved stainless steel or aluminium, with options for riveted, welded stud or self-adhesive attachment, and can be supplied with blank fields for post-installation hydrostatic test data completion.
Instrumentation & Control Panel Labels
In-line instruments, transmitters, control valves and actuators carry multiple identification requirements: loop number, tag number, instrument type and calibration status. For panel-mounted instrumentation and control stations, Lexicraft’s graphic overlays and control panels provide a precise, durable fascia solution in polycarbonate, polyester, aluminium or engraved laminate – specified to suit the chemical and temperature exposure of the installation environment.
Chemical & Offshore Environment Decals
Process plant and offshore facilities also require functional and directional marking on equipment, pipework supports and structural steelwork – from safety zone demarcation to equipment numbering on tankage and skid units. Lexicraft’s custom decals are digitally printed in cast vinyl rated for outdoor UV exposure, chloride atmospheres and repeated washdown with alkaline degreasing agents.
Offshore-Grade Traceability
Offshore platforms and chemical plants impose exceptional corrosion demands. Lexicraft’s offshore-grade identification products use 316L or duplex stainless steel substrates, PTFE-coated wires for tie-on tags, and UV-stable surface coatings resistant to H2S environments. Products can be supplied with third-party material traceability certification (EN 10204 3.1) where project specifications require it.
