Aircraft Labels, Data Plates & Cabin Identification Solutions

Aviation places stricter demands on identification products than almost any other industry. A label that delaminates in flight, a data plate that corrodes inside an engine nacelle, or a cabin instruction placard that fades under UV are not quality failures – they are airworthiness concerns. Lexicraft has supplied the aviation and aerospace industries for decades, manufacturing identification products that satisfy the traceability, durability and legibility standards that regulators and airframers require.

Aircraft Data Plates & Rating Plates

Component data plates for airframe structures, avionics units, ground support equipment and powerplant accessories must remain permanently legible and resist the full range of aviation fluids – including Skydrol hydraulic fluid, de-icing compounds, jet fuel and cleaning agents. Our custom nameplates are produced in chemically etched and laser-engraved stainless steel and aluminium, meeting the permanence requirements of EASA, CAA and FAA Part 45 regulations. Electrochemical etching and anodised aluminium options are available for applications where embedded characters are specified.

Aircraft maintenance environment where aerospace nameplates must remain legible and compliant

Cabin & Passenger Compartment Labels

Regulatory placards – emergency exit instructions, door operation notices, seatbelt graphics and no-smoking signs – must comply with CS-25 and FAR Part 25 legibility standards and survive the aggressive cleaning regimes typical of commercial aviation operations. Lexicraft’s polycarbonate and polyester labels are produced with UV-stable inks and retain contrast and colour fastness through tens of thousands of cycles of IPA-based cabin cleaning without delamination or print degradation.

Component Identification & MRO Traceability

Maintenance, repair and overhaul operations depend on accurate component identification throughout the aircraft’s service life. Lexicraft produces serialised asset tags, part number labels and inspection record plates with barcode and QR code integration, supporting SPEC 2000 and ATA iSpec 2200 traceability workflows. These are supplied as custom labels in anodised aluminium with laser-filled characters for high-temperature zones such as engine pylons and APU compartments.

Cockpit & Avionics Panel Overlays

Graphic overlays and control panel faceplates for cockpit instruments, avionics bays and flight management system interfaces require precise positioning, backlit window cut-outs and anti-glare surface finishes. Lexicraft’s graphic overlays and control panels are produced to customer CAD data in polycarbonate and polyester, with selective texturing, LED diffusion layers and embossed button areas incorporated where required. Sub-panels in aluminium and stainless steel are also available for applications requiring rigid construction.

Ground Support Equipment & Exterior Identification

Aircraft ground support equipment – tow bars, GPU units, dollies and loading equipment – requires durable identification that withstands apron environments such as jet blast, fuel spillage, repeated pressure washing and outdoor UV exposure year-round. Lexicraft’s custom decals, produced by screen and digital print with CAD/CAM cutting, are available in cast vinyl and retroreflective materials suited to GSE and airport vehicle fleets.

Aviation identification products face a uniquely hostile combination of conditions: altitude-driven pressure cycling, rapid thermal transitions from -55 °C to +85 °C, ozone exposure, vibration and the cumulative effects of MRO chemical exposure. Lexicraft’s material selection process takes each application environment into account, specifying substrate, adhesive, surface treatment and ink system accordingly. Samples are available for customer qualification testing prior to production release.

With traceability, compliance and longevity at the core of our aviation offering, Lexicraft is an experienced partner for airframers, tier-one system integrators, MRO organisations and ground equipment manufacturers.
